Bio: Emily Silk

Talk Title: "On Designing and Teaching Literary MOOCs: Reflections from Poetry in America"

Emily Silk is a PhD student in English at Harvard, where she studies nineteenth-century American literature and culture. After graduating in 2010 from Princeton University, she spent three years in K12 public education as a research analyst and program manager at CityBridge Foundation in Washington, DC, where she focused on strategies for school implementation of online and blended learning programs. Silk has worked as instructor of the HarvardX MOOC Poetry in America, led by Professor Lisa New, and continues to work on related Poetry in America initiatives as a "Digital Fellow" in the Harvard Department of English.
